Submission for My First Game Jam Summer 2022.
Theme: "Heal"

A short Twine game about reading poetry to your houseplant (a stromanthe triostar), starting anew, and healing from a broken heart. Somewhat based on my own personal experiences.

Three endings!
Featuring poems by Sappho, Li Qingzhao, Mary Oliver, Wang Xiaoni, Emily Dickinson, and maybe...you?

Planned updates:
- Background image changes depending on your choices and the passage of time.
- Adding music and sounds.
- Being able to restart the game when you've reached an ending without exiting.

very unusual and fun, but for a long time

Ive grown so attached to this plant in just 5 minutes!... This game is very emotional, thank you for making it.

Sorry this comment is so late, but I'm so glad you enjoyed hanging with this fictional plant. Thank you for playing!

Aughhh this one really got to me. It was slowly cutting deeper and deeper until the "prophecies of self-destruction" line and honestly I think something broke in me 😭😭😭 This is soooooo good... Love this game about a new frond... SO glad to have the option to name the plant, and I really love the typewriter effect for the poems because it really felt like I could hear them being spoken aloud! This is such a good little game and I love how it connects to the theme TT___TT<3

Ah I'm so glad it resonated with you! And I did try to time the typewritten portions in time with how I would read the poems out loud. So it makes me really happy to hear you say it felt like hearing the words! Thank you for playing!

I love this so much! First of all, plants. Second of all, poetry. The concept is so interesting to me and the whole experience is warm. I'll definitely come back to this a few times <3 Excited to see where this project goes.

Thank you so much! I definitely have a few more things I want to add to the game so I hope you get to play it with the changes in the future! I'm so happy that you liked it!

Hi! I like the concept of this game, and I love the art! Congrats for submitting the game for the jam!

Thank you!!
